Looking for the "City center"

I’m going to tell you a story about adventures of foreign tourists in Russia during FIFA World Cup 2018. It could happen only in my native city Ekaterinburg. To begin with, they were in a shopping center called «City center» in a center of Ekaterinburg. When I came there today, I meet two foreign tourists, who were talking nervously with a salesman:

-Where is the city center? – they asked
-Here! – he answered
-No!! We are looking for city center! – they were insisting
-It is "City centre", - the salesman was insistent too and he was absolutely right in his conviction.

I offered help. Tourists were glad and explained to me that yesterday they had been to the center of the city but it looked differently! Of course, because a true center of Ekaterinburg was in another direction. I explained them how to get there and where the closest restaurant was.

One more funny fact. It’s good that we haven’t got shopping center or a restaurant named “The Railway station” in Ekaterinburg. But also we have a huge supermarket in center of the city where you can get discount only with “Green card”. Let’s imagine, how a foreign tourist is coming to cash desk in a supermarket. And salesman is asking him: «Do you have a green card? No? No green card, no discounts!». It’s a truly Russian city Ekaterinburg.
